About Shayla
Beauty by Shayla is open for business and accepting new clients for neurotoxin such as Dysport/Galderma, for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes.
Shayla was born and raised in beautiful Salt Spring Island, BC. She is a natural caregiver, nurturer, and empath. Shayla always knew that nursing was her life’s calling ever since she was a little girl, dreaming of a life in the big city, helping save lives and to make a difference to many.
After receiving her Diploma in Practical Nursing in Victoria, BC. Shayla was lucky enough to begin a 20 year-long career working at St. Paul’s hospital in downtown Vancouver. It was during the Covid-19 pandemic Shayla decided to step down from bedside nursing.
Shayla's switch from bedside nursing to nursing aesthetics during covid-19 was bold. Wanting to be more physically present to support her family, she found a more immediately rewarding role in aesthetics, where she could directly see the impact of her care on clients' confidence and appearance. Her transition underscores nurses' adaptability and highlights the diverse opportunities within the nursing field. Shayla has never been happier with her decision to leave the bedside and start a rewarding career in Aesthetics and to help people feel happy and beautiful in their own skin.

Shayla underwent comprehensive training at the Pacific Training Institute for Facial Aesthetics & Therapeutics (PTIFA). Her training encompassed full-face and neck neuromodulation techniques, enabling her to address various facial concerns effectively. By completing the first three levels of advanced anatomy, Shayla acquired a deep understanding of facial structures, enhancing her ability to provide precise and tailored aesthetic care.

Prevention plays a crucial role in anti-aging by inhibiting the formation of lines through the relaxation of facial muscles. This approach offers clients a smoother, more lifted appearance. While results may vary, consistent treatment can effectively soften and diminish lines, promoting a youthful and radiant look. Additionally, Botox is recognized for its potential to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, tension-induced headaches, and bruxism-related jaw pain.
Shayla returned to PTIFA for certification in medical micro-needling to add to her skillful tool belt, and has dreams of adding more services in the near future.
Beauty by Shayla is Naturopathic Doctor directed business, and her Dr. will be onsite during all Dysport injection appointments.

Postpartum and Birth Doula

A Doula helps the Mother during pre-labor to active labor using pain relieving techniques, breathing support and massage to calm and relax Mum. She helps advocate on her behalf to Dr's and Nurses, and helps support Dad too. Postpartum Doula shows support during the forth trimester while at home in the early stages of PP. She helps with Nursing, diaper changes and light cleaning, and folding laundry. It's all about nurturing Mum and Babe in this sacred time.
